You do not respect their time
Many employees are efficient on their work and able to get their job done before working hour done. However, they choose to stay in the office where they want other that they are good co-worker. Then, they get jammed in traffic and get home late and doesn’t have much time for their personal activities. Other than that, some company request to have meeting at the early morning on Monday. Many employees will have complaint on this where they need to go to bed earlier on Sunday where most of them not prefer and some employee may need to send their children to school and rush for meeting. In order to retain employee, try to make some reasonable changes and respect your employee where they are human as well and they need some time for their personal activities or meet their family earlier after work.
Doesn’t get along with their employer
I think most of the employee will not even bother about other job if they work well with their employer. If the employee feel that they want to switch their job, then some of the responsibilities is on employer. Employer maybe doesn’t communicate well with employee and let them feel that they do not been appreciated or they cannot see any future in this company. For employer to retain them, try to let them involve in some big project. Most of the employee want self-achievement in their job or career and let others know that they are capable for big project. This also can let them stay longer in the company where they will put more effort in the company’s big project and prove themselves.
Lack of mentorship
If company cannot provide mentorship to new employee, then they cannot be blame when they leave the company after few months. When company doesn’t provide mentorship to new employee, they will have no idea where to start their work and cannot get the job done. When they do not get the job done, they may get scolded by their manager and lost confidence on their job and working performance. Therefore, request some experienced employee to help them for some period of time and provide them right way to get the job done and maybe share some information about how to finish the job nicely or get involve in company’s project.
