Excluding salary range from job description
Most of the candidate will focus more on the salary provided when they find a job. However, there are still some company that not willing to put the salary range that they are going to provide for the candidate. This will make candidates feel that your company are not willing to hire people where you don’t even want to put the salary range in the job description. If the company put clear information about the range of salary provided, candidates will know how much for their salary and they will be more willing to have further conversation with your company.
Writing all job listing the same, regardless of audience
Do you still using the advertising method that other company are using as well? You should segment your target market and know what they like or prefer about and reach them with the most effective method and remember that always have difference from others in order to attract their attraction. For example, if your company target millennials that prefer to have work-life balance and development opportunity. Then you should provide some information that your company offer promotion opportunity and will have some small event for employee to have some rest. Remember that provide information that match with their preference to attract their attention.
Hiring candidates only if they had the same job title as the open position
Some company just choose the candidates that have previous work experience about the open position and ignore the rest. This will greatly reduce your chance to hire good employee where you hire employee based on experience and not on skill and ability. It is common for company to think that candidates that have previous work experience with related skill can perform well but with experience doesn’t mean he can do the job well and same goes to the candidates with skill and ability. They may have less experience but they have time and willingness to learn and this attitude will make they have huge improvement in short time and replaced the experienced one.
Setting technological barrier for job seeker
Most of the job seeker can’t apply for job through their mobile device because most company just allow job application through computer or laptop. However, nowadays mobile device has become more common for the society and people are started to use mobile device for their daily basis. Therefore, company need to make their job application available whether on computer site or mobile site so job seeker can apply job from both site and increase chance for company to hired employee. Just focusing on computer site is not effective where job seeker might forget to apply for the job when they need to go back to their computer for the job application.
